A photo per day for 2012: Day 217

Flowers and stones.

I’ve photographed Stonehenge to death during the 20 or so times I’ve visited its rings over the last four decades. So on this visit, I was determined to try and get a shot I’d not achieved before. Achievement One: Getting a shot with no tourists in it. Achievement Two: Getting it from a point I’ve not been to before. Achievement Three: Picking up on the out-of-focus technique I’ve used in the past (well, to be fair, the focal point is just a little unexpected.)

Five days until the next The Future Is Papier Mache/CKPonderings collaboration. Pop over and check out Richard‘s street photography!

  1. Very nice. I love the way the image is saying ‘Yeah, I know I’m at Stonehenge, but there’s a flower here that looks pretty so I’m gonna focus on that.’

    • It’s well worth the effort – very photogenic, but very photographed… Cameras aside, it’s a really lovely place to wander around, and there is so much more than the packed car park in the immediate surroundings.
