#1505 – …But Some Of Us…

Oscar Wilde spent something of a scandalous summer in Worthing in 1894, during which time he wrote the Importance of Being Earnest.

Despite the goings on of that summer (which in part resulted in Wilde’s later conviction and imprisonment), the town is has been keen to celebrate its literary connection, and this board is the latest addition the seafront.

  1. Oh those joyful moments of history… Thanks to (to despite) the goings of the summer of 1894 we all can read beautiful books of Mr. Wilde and Worthing can celebrate it’s famous tourist 😀
