#2003 – A Bennett Clark

A trawl through my antique and vintage photo archives and a visiting card dating from, I am assuming, the 1910s.

Arthur Bennett Clark was born in 1863, the son of a photographer in Bristol. Kelly’s records show that by the age of 25 he had gone into the same line of business as his father, setting up his own shop in Wolverhampton.

74 Darlington Street was to be the home of Bennett Clark Photography for the next six decades, well outlasting the man himself, who passed away in 1937, leaving a wife and two daughters.
