Along with my passion for taking photographs, I also have a keen interest in old and antique images.
For me there is something quite sad about the photos you see in junk shops and that you can readily buy online.
Portraits especially tug on the heart strings, as these people, their lives and loves are gone and forgotten, lost to the world. We will never know what their hopes and their dreams were, and whether they were ever realised.
Rescuing these images and publishing them provides a bit of release, sharing these lives again with others.
